dreams...

Dave and I are dreamers!! We have always been dreamers, perhaps one of the reasons we get along so well. When we met and got married we started dreaming together, we had plans of getting our SCUBA licenses and dive the world. We were going to visit all the National Parks. We were going to spend our 10 year anniversary in Hawaii...I could write ten pages of individual and collective dreams we have had. Some have come true but others have not.

There was a little hiccup in the equation when the children came but those dreams are still burning within us. One of them is to own our true dream home. We have been searching for years and WE FOUND IT!!!!

Here it is!!

Isn't it AWESOME???

Courtyard you have to walk through before you get to the front door...

View from the backyard...

Jo thought it was COOL!!

Modi did too!!

Cool reading spot!!

Check out the stool inside the pool...you can eat cheeseburgers and swim when you are done...

Dave and I have dreams and dreams give us hope. We will work hard towards our dreams and God willing they will come true.

Are you dreaming big??

of cars and giggles...

I love to see Modi laugh and giggle!! He has the most amazingly catching laugh. Anybody who sees him can't stop laughing!!!
One of his favorite things to do when we are out for walks or bike rides is to car watch. Sometimes we will ride to an intersection and sit for what seems like forever and watch cars turning, racing, rumbling....Modi is always overcome with laughter. He laughs so hard he shakes. The louder and faster the car turns, the louder he laughs. He specially loves those big diesel trucks that make the most obnoxious sounds! Jo of course likes those too!!!

Yesterday we rode our bikes to the intersection where the local middle school is right when school let out. We saw school buses, tons of kids on bikes, walkers, tons of cars. Modi had a total blast!!! Jo and I could not stop laughing ourselves...I can't explain what it is about this that makes Modi enjoy himself so much. It could be a sensory game, just a boy thing(boys love cars and all)...I don't know what it is but I have seen him cry more than enough that when he giggles my heart is happy.

If anyone knows where the busiest intersection in the world is let me know, we may have to go there some day.

how did it go?

Today little Jo had his first field trip at school. They went to a farm to enjoy some fall activities. The farm was an hour away from school and the kids would not be coming home until 2 pm. For a half day kindergartner like my Jo that is a long day. I was a little concerned about his behavior because he can get really rambunctious and a little bit wild. The teacher told me she had spoken to him and that it would be better if I did not go to the field trip that they could handle it on their own.

Happy to have a day with only one kid, I kissed my Jo goodbye and prayed that things would go well. So when I picked him up at school, I asked the teacher how it went. Jo did not hear this conversation thank goodness. These are her exact words: "There are degrees of goodness and you know Jo is never going to be perfect! But he did really well or at least as good as the rest of them."

I was not sure exactly what these words meant but I took them to mean he did well!!!
I gave my boy a big high five and a hug and we went to Target to get him a treat!!!
But the teacher's comment stuck in my head! It was not exactly the best thing to tell a parent even if their child is the most rambunctious of the class.

I wonder if her kids are perfect?
